Since the other day, my husband has a food craving with my mother-in-law’s cooking specially the Cheese Dip that she made when we were in Florida. I can’t blame his craving because it was sure so delicious. So yesterday I thought I will make same thing, I tried looking for a recipe on my recipe book but I did not find it. Good thing I remembered that I have this crockpot recipe book and thought I might as well look something I could make for a change.
When I am almost on the last page, I found this Chili-Cheese Dip recipe, it was quite simple and easy to make but I thought maybe I can use something more or add up some more ingredients. So I came up to this idea of “Beef Chili Cheese Dip”.
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef, 1/2 cup onion (chopped finely), 1/2 cup green chilies (chopped finely), 1/2 cup tomatoes (finely chopped), 1 can 6 oz tomato paste (add 1/2 can water), 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, 1 tsp of Tabasco hot sauce, 12 oz processed American cheese (cut into small pieces), 2 tbsp cottage cheese, 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese. And a bag of Corn Chips.
Direction:
Cook ground beef in a pan until its color turned into brown, and drain excess fat. Put the ground beef in a Crockpot, mix it well with all other ingredients except the shredded mozzarella cheese. Turn the Crockpot to “High” for 1 hour or until cheese melted well, stirring occasionally. Spread the shredded mozzarella cheese on top on the last 10 minutes of cooking time. Serve it warm or Turn the Crockpot to “low” if not serving right away.
This is my own recipe and so far it turned out well and the above picture is my finished product. My husband thought it was so delicious, I know it wasn’t good as my in-law’s cooking but I’m still happy because my husband always appreciate my cooking.
You can try it guys and just adjust something according to your preferences. You can add more American cheese too, my cheese supply was short so that was the only amount I added. Cooking for my family is a crystal moment for me.
